About the Angus Slopitch League

The AMOSPL was first formed by 4 masters teams in 1992. Over the years, the teams pulled together and grew the league inviting a junior division into the league in 1995 and then the friendly competitiveness began. The league has progressed into one of the longest running leagues in the area.

The diamond has received many upgrades over the years with the paired efforts of the Angus Slopitch League and the Township of Essa. Some of the upgrades to mention:  a fence installed around the entire diamond, lights moved to the exterior of the fence, equipment room, dugouts, higher fence dimensions to protect the fans, and this just to mention a few. We are always looking to give back to the township and donate what we can to improve the park.

If you enjoy having a fun time while playing a sport during the summer, then this is a great place to be. The diamond is located on a well maintained park which accomodates for children of all ages including a big splash pad for the little ones to cool off during those hot summer days.

Today, we still have a masters (+35) division, as well as a junior division and in 2016 we welcomed a mixed division to our league. Our Masters and Junior division play approximately 28 regular season games, one annual tournament, as well as a playoff format combining for nearly 50 games per year which is by far, the most amount of games allowed by any league in a large proximity to our diamond.
