LOCAL RULES OF PLAY

2019

 

  • NSA Canada rules and Angus Slo Pitch League constitution will govern all League play with the following exceptions or additions:
  1. Game is considered official after 5 complete innings (4 ½ if home team leading)
  2. Incomplete games suspended due to weather will be replayed in their entirety
  3. Games will be 7 innings subject to time limit-no new inning after 80 minutes
  4. Once a game has started, only the umpire can suspend play for weather
  5. In regular season play, ties stand
  6. Wins are worth 2 points, ties are worth 1 point; losses worth 0 point
  7. 10 batters max to the plate in one inning
  8. Homeruns: 10th batter free hit rule is always open and does not apply until the +2 has been reached.  10th batter, with less than +2 - it counts towards homerun maximum rule.
  9. No cancellation of game during playoffs, automatic forfeit
  10. A player who hit’s a homerun has a choice to walk off
  11. Only 2 game reschedules per season
  12. Weekday games to start at 7pm Sharp
  13. Tie Breaker reflected By NSA Rules (For League Standings)
  14. Playoffs for Jr. 2/3, 3/5, 4/7   Sr. pending

     

TEAM LINE-UP

  1. Team must have 8 roster players to start a game or forfeit
  2. Late arrivals before end of third inning may be added to line-up (to a 10 batter maximum)
  3. Late arrivals after end of third inning may be used as substitutes only
  4. Teams may place a maximum of 15 batters in starting line-up
  5. Unlimited defense is permitted
  6. Players on field must wear matching numbered shirts by June 1st (unless wearing jacket for weather)
  7. After roster deadline, only signed roster players may play in a game for a team

 

EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES

  1. Home team responsible to prepare and line diamond as directed by umpire
  2. Home team responsible to put away equipment and turn off stadium lights, lights to be turned off soon after games, for safety one bank left on for (Limited) time, off by 10-10:15pm fine of $50 will be levied if not done (Home team is responsible whether they stay or leave)
  3. Hydro box to be kept locked at all times if locks go missing and left unlocked HOME TEAM will pay to have locks replaced and keys made for all teams and if Hydro Box left unlocked Home Team will be fined $50.
  4. League play will be conducted with 40 core Demarini ball
  5. Home team responsible to supply new and second game ball
  6. Only thumbprint bats will be allowed.
  7. EZ Mat plus home plate will be considered the strike zone for legally pitched ball
  8. No steel spikes permitted in ball cleats
  9. Pitching Arc to be 6’ to 12’
  10. All pitchers must wear a protective face mask when pitching (amended 2019)
  11. Minimum games played to qualify for men’s playoffs will be 7 games (amended 2019)

 

       BASE RUNNERS

  1. Anticipation step is permitted once pitch ball crosses home plate
  2. Team is permitted to request time and use maximum of 5 courtesy runners in one game
  3. No tagging is permitted on runner after commitment line
  4. Runner must cross the scoring line and not touch home plate or mat to count run

 

PARK

  1. Minimum of 2 reps per team for Park Clean up etc. or teams fined. Refer to (By-Law) 7 for fine.
  2. The League follows Township Rule of No Alcohol unless a special permit is issued
