ANGUS SLO PITCH MIXED LEAGUE – 2019 RULES

 

  • NSA Canada rules and Angus Slo Pitch League constitution will govern all League play with the following exceptions or additions:

 

  • Minimum 6 & 4 format, no more than 6 males may play defensively at one time.  No more than 2 males may bat consecutively.  Minimum of 10 players required (9 with auto out) including 3 females (4 designated female spots).
  • Static lineups only, the batting order on the line-up card is the order you must bat in.  Unlimited defense permitted.
  • Players must play in 4 (four) league games to be eligible for playoffs.  Teams cannot borrow players for playoffs. 
  • 10 min grace period on posted start times.  Completed lineup cards must be given to the umpire 10 min prior to game start.  The player’s first and last name are required on the line-up sheet.
  • Home team is responsible for chalking the base lines and setting up/removing bases and strike board.
  • Home team is the official scorer of each game
  • At the end of each game, scores must be submitted to scheduler within 24hrs.
  • 3 courtesy runners per gender per game
  • No bunting
  • Commitment line and scoring at home:  No tagging is permitted on runner after crossing the commitment line.  The runner must cross the scoring line and not touch home plate or mat to count run
  • If a male batter is walked, that precedes a female batter, the male batter is awarded second base and the female batter has their choice of hitting or walking to first.  Note: only base runners that are forced to vacate a base will advance
  • Home run rule: Both teams are allowed to hit 1 homerun after that the 1 up rule is in effect.  Batter has the option whether to round the bases or walk off after hitting homerun.
  • Players can only sign for one team
  • Game is considered official after 5 complete innings (4 ½ if home team leading)    
  • Incomplete games suspended due to weather will be replayed in their entirety
  • Games will be 7 innings subject to time limit-no new inning after 70 minutes
  • Once a game has started, only the umpire can suspend play for weather
  • Wins are worth 2 points, ties are worth 1 point
  • No cancellation of game during playoffs, automatic forfeit
  • Teams can only reschedule 2 games per season.  Rescheduled games must be agreed to by each team captain and then reported to the President and Scheduler 1 week in advance (amended 2019)
  • Playoffs Format: 2/3, 2/3, 3/5
  • Late arrivals before end of third inning may be added to line-up to a 10 batter maximum
  • Teams may place a maximum of 15 batters in starting line-up
  • Players on field must wear matching shirts by June 1st (unless wearing jacket for weather)
  • After roster deadline, July 1st, only signed roster players may play in a game for a team
  • Pitching Arc to be 6’ to 12’
  • All pitchers must wear a protective face mask when pitching (amended 2019)
  • Anticipation step is permitted once pitch ball crosses home plate
  • Fines:
    1. Forfeits: $50
    2. Missed Meeting: $50

(taken from your bond, at which time the team is not in good standing and will not be permitted to play until brought back up to its full $100)
